Oz (Oil Paint)
Artist Statement: This tree is in the center of my neighborhood. There is a circle of grass and all the houses surround it, and this tree is in the center of it. I watched it grow from a baby tree to a big tree and it really amazed me how something so small can grow to be so big. I chose to take the picture during the middle of the day so that I could get the most sunlight on the tree. The main feeling I'm trying to convey is amazement.
Paradise (Oil Paint)
Artist Statement: This is a place in the woods where me and my family would go hiking. Each year, we would try to get out a few times and go hiking, and I always loved it. This place brought back a lot of nostalgia, and with the way that the trees bend inward makes it seem as though the line of trees never stops. I took this picture during the middle of the day so that I could get a good amount of sunlight on the trees. The main feeling I'm trying to convey is nostalgia.
Extending (Oil Paint)
Artist Statement: This line of trees is right next to a pond that my family would walk around during holiday breaks. We would walk around the pond and admire the wildlife and also take a moment to admire the trees. I took this picture around noon to get a lot of sunlight on the trees. The main feeling I'm trying to convey is admiration.
Drive By (Oil Paint)
Artist Statement: These trees are in my backyard. Whenever I look out the windows and see these trees, especially after it snows, I think it looks so pretty. I took these pictures around the middle of the day to get the right amount of sunlight on the trees. The main feeling that I'm trying to convey is calmness.
Lines (Oil Paint)
Artist Statement: These trees are in a field which is right next to my house. This field is used to grow wheat, and I always enjoyed as a little kid watching the big machines harvest the wheat. I took this picture during the middle of the day so that the sun's rays can really make the trees shine. The main feeling I'm trying to convey is happiness.
